As well as being the food and wine capital of South Africa, Franschhoek and the surrounding region provide excellent opportunities for a range of active pursuits. These include hiking in the Franschhoek Mountains and Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve, quad biking, mountain biking, zip-lining, horse riding, and hot air ballooning (weather dependent). Further afield we can also organize whale watching and shark cave diving around Hermanus and Gansbaai, and overnight and day safaris to private game reserves to see the ‘Big 5’.
